Rhinoplasty, Glasgow – From £66 per month

This procedure is also sometimes colloquially referred to as a “Nose Job” to give it it’s proper name “Rhinoplasty” is surgery to reshape the nose. This procedure is one of the most common plastic surgery operations carried out today and it can be undertaken to either increase or decrease the size of nose.

Almost every aspect of the nose, such as the tip, the bridge and the nostrils can be surgically modified as can the angle between the nose and the upper lip. In some cases, this type of surgery is carried out to address breathing difficulties as well as cosmetic anomalies.

Although there are several options to address issues with the nose there are limits and the surgeon will discuss with you what can realistically be achieved. The outcome to some degree, is dependent on the size and shape of your nose at the outset, the condition of your skin and your age.

The nose is one of the most difficult and sensitive areas to treat and undertaking surgery will not solve any emotional problems you may think are caused by the shape of your nose or your appearance in general.

Many people are self-conscious about the shape of their nose and have rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons (that is, to improve the appearance of their nose). However, other patients may choose to have rhinoplasty because of an injury to the nose, if the nose has been broken or bent by accident. Others may have breathing problems relating to the nasal airways, and will choose to have Septorhinoplasty, which involves modifying the bony structure inside the nose known as the “septum”.

In these cases, this would be classed as a reconstructive rhinoplasty, rather than cosmetic. If a Septorhinoplasty is being carried out there may also be the opportunity to modify other cosmetic defects during the procedure.
